Hunter-Gathering Trade Post and Training
Dec. 2nd, 2014 11:24 amLocation: House 5
Run by: Jamison McCauthy
Contact: If he ever actually answers it... Spoiler: he usually forgets he even has one.
Goods/Services offered:
Jamison is a skilled survivor. He's a decent hunter, fisherman and gatherer of plants and herbs. He has been surviving the Technician's worst for a little over a decade and a half without a single death, so if you're looking for tips, strategies or advice, Jamison is your best bet to go to. You just might not like the answers he gives.
If asked, Jamison will teach characters how to hunt or forage the items available. He'll also offer to do so for people unwilling to brave the forests. If you want salt-water fish or sharks the price is much steeper when it comes to trading.

Jun. 20th, 2014 12:52 amThe wallet Jamison had found was clearly Jesse's. Which only made the contents within it all the more confusing. It had to be this place messing with him yet again. Another trick of the mind played on his ever more broken spirit. The face smiling back at him was one he had not seen in person in almost two decades now, but one he thought of every day. A face he saw every time he closed his eyes. They had only been dumb young kids in love, but he had wanted so much more. He was going to marry that girl. Settle down and have a family with her the moment they finished school. And then fate had wrenched them apart and tossed him into this hell hole.
By now she must have moved on. Married. Had Kids. Maybe even forgotten about him. He wasn't an optimistic fool anymore. He even hoped she had moved on, because it would have made his miserable life a little more bearable thinking she was somewhere living a happy, normal life. Never touched by the grief of this place beyond mourning a man who never came back from his Birthday Camping Trip.
When he saw her face on that photograph the wallet fell from his fingers. It couldn't be her, but there was no doubt in his mind that it WAS her.
He sent a text to Jesse and left without so much as an explanation to Alex. Something he would need to apologize for, later. It was the fastest he had moved toward the ocean since the day he had to go get Jesse and Dani out of Foodland, under the influence of those plants.
"Jesse?" It wasn't a question so much as a yell as he scaled the ladder to the top of the food store. The wallet tucked into his back pocket. "Where are you?"

Jamison was still cleaning up tables when the last of Northtown's irregulars managed to finally shift themselves out of the Bar. It had been a rough week in the Box, and people lingered even longer than usual, but they hadn't lost anyone yet this week, and that was something to be proud of. Things were starting to look up. Southtown and Northtown were both starting to get organized. Supply gathering teams, defense plans, people were learning how to defend themselves and each other.
In his opinion, things were looking positive. They'd find a way out of there soon. They were even starting to work on getting the boats ship-worthy again. See if the barrier extended out into the sea.
The rest of their little group of friends were down in Southtown for the week, helping with repairs to the hotel. So it was just Marcus and Jamison at the bar, trying to keep spirits up. With liquid spirits in plentiful supply.
"That's the last of them, then. Not sure if Henry will make it all the way back to his shack but Jade is looking out for him." He slipped into one of the bar stools with a low laugh and shook his head. "He's going to off himself before anything else gets the chance, putting it away like that." Grave humor. It was necessary around here, but somehow Jamison managed to make it sound amused rather than bitter.
